Living Well + Whole: What does it look like for YOU?

But what does ‘living well’ mean? I’ve pondered on this question for a long time. And as I reflected on my journey thus far, I realized that my meaning of living well has evolved over the years. It used to revolve around the sense of security – being surrounded by loving supportive relationships, having sufficient resources to live comfortably, feeling healthy, safe from dis-ease or harm, and have a meaningful life. I suspect these criteria may be on the list of what many may consider as living well.

While these are still important to me, I realized that one key component has been missing – the felt sense of security from within. For the past 2 years I have been consciously learning to reconnect with myself again, wholly – heart, mind, body & spirit – and the sense of safety, of feeling at home in my body and my heart, has widened my perspective of what living well and whole truly means. I am still very much a work-in-progress, and every day is an opportunity to learn and experience what it truly feels to stay connected with myself to live well + whole.

Why is this important you may wonder? Because I believe that if we know how we want to live, we have a much better idea of finding our way there. Just as you won’t try to get to a new place without first putting the location on your GPS, finding our way home is not very different. EXCEPT for one crucial point – every one of us will have a different idea of what it looks like and how to get there. No doubt, there are (and will be) many ideas out there of how this should look like. And without a clear idea, we’re easily pulled to many different directions (I know I have). Have you considered what is YOUR idea of living well + whole?

What I hope to share on this platform is what I’ve learned & continue to learn in my own journey home in hopes that you may find something that resonates or may be of help in yours. But most of all, I hope that it will remind you that you are not walking home, alone.
